Logan Hospital welcomed Hannah Gaj this week as the new Nursing and Midwifery Director for Women’s and Children’s Services.

Originally from the UK, Hannah brings extensive experience from her work in midwifery and neonatal care, both overseas and in leadership roles across Ipswich and Brisbane.

Hannah said she was eager to draw on her expertise as both a neonatal nurse and midwife in her new role.

“My focus is ensuring we have services in place to deliver high-quality, excellent, and accessible care to the diverse community of Logan,” she said.

Hannah shared her desire to become a neonatal nurse began as far back as she could remember, but that her passion for midwifery was ignited during a placement as part of her studies.

“The team was so wonderful that I decided to complete my postgraduate studies in midwifery,” she said.

Hannah achieved her qualifications in 2012 and 2015 respectively and while her heart remains closely tied to neonatology, she finds joy in every aspect of both fields.

“I love working with such unique and diverse women and being part of such a special journey with them. It’s a real privilege to experience these moments with our patients.”

The Logan Hospital team is excited to have Hannah on board and looks forward to her contributions to shaping exceptional care for the local community.
