Beaudesert’s Jennifer (Jenny) O’Connor finds reward in connecting with patients and their families and it was this connection that led her to a career in nursing.

Over the past decade, Jenny has passionately advocated for patients' well-being on the General Ward, empowering them to make informed healthcare decisions.

The Clinical Nurse of 14 years was recently awarded the staff values award for Respect and was proud to be acknowledged for the work that she puts into her role.

Jenny said she believed that respect was a value that shaped one’s thoughts, actions and attitudes toward all, including themselves.

“Respect means treating everyone equally and valuing and recognising and individual person’s self-worth,” she said.

“I feel proud and overwhelmed that I have been acknowledged for the work that I do and I’m very grateful and luck for the team that I work with here at Beaudesert Hospital.”

Other winners on the day included Clinical Facilitator Diane Lubach, awarded for excellence and Enrolled Nurse Mary Sweet who won the Integrity award.
