In a month of celebration across the Logan Beaudesert Health Service we paid tribute to the invaluable contributions of some of our most inspiring individuals.
May saw both hospitals hold celebrations for their nursing and midwifery cohorts, each crowning a Nurse and Midwife of the Year. Logan Hospital also awarded a Maternity Team of the Year, Nursing Team of the Year and Nurse Leader of the Year, along with an inaugural Volunteer of the Year.
In a heartfelt tribute to the backbone of healthcare, Metro South Health Directorate of the Executive Director of Nursing and Midwifery hosted a celebration breakfast honouring nurses and midwives from across the various facilities of MSH.
The celebration also featured a series of presentations highlighting the invaluable contributions of nurses and midwives to patient outcomes, sustainable healthcare delivery and shaping the professions in the community.
Nurses and midwives were thanked for the crucial role they played in healthcare, from reducing maternal mortality rates, to providing essential primary care services and being a shoulder to lean on during challenging times.
The 2024 Nurse and Midwife of the Year were also crowned and although neither were from LBHS, we did have a long list of other winners.
Director Nursing and Midwifery Services Lorraine Stevenson said she was delighted to see the celebrations continue to grow every year with LBHS's strongest representation yet now in the history books of MSH.
"I’m so proud of how many of our nurses and midwives were recognised at the 2024 Metro South Health Directorate of the Executive Director of Nursing and Midwifery Awards," she said.
"This is such amazing recognition of our LBHS nurses and midwives who dedicate themselves to providing excellence in care and practice every day."
With this year's awards now done and dusted, Lorraine had just one question left - who will you nominate for the 2025 awards?
