What do you get when you put 31 nurses in a room together? An impressive 791 combined years of practice!
The statistic was celebrated by proud staff within the Bayside Addiction and Mental Health Community Centre on International Nurses Day, designed to thank and acknowledge the invaluable role of nurses in the organisation.
The day was filled with laughs and a little bit of competition, with Social Worker and Addictions’ Team Leader Kate Barrow providing the closest guess for how many years of nursing practice there is in the building.
Congratulations also goes to Psychiatry Registrar Dr. Farouk Syed-jaffar for winning the inaugural Quiz on Nursing.
Staff ensured they looked the part, stepping back in time and donning some vintage nursing caps.
Even those from outside nursing took the opportunity to shine a light on the remarkable contribution AMHS nurses make to health care.
Celebrations were also held at various facilities across the Metro South Health region for Addiction and Mental Health Service nurses, all marking this year’s theme of “Our Nurses. Our Future: The Economic Power of Care”
Thank you to all AMHS nursing staff for the work that you do in caring for your communities.
