Emily Pickup Nurse Unit Manager of Eight Mile Plains Satellite Hospital
After a 12-year career at Logan Hospital, Emily Pickup has embarked on a new journey leading the team at the Eight Mile Plains Satellite Hospital Minor Injury and Illness Clinic.
While Logan Hospital feels her absence, the Satellite Hospital team has been enjoying her leadership since the facility opened last month.
Emily said in her role as Nurse Unit Manager, she aimed to continually promote and uphold a positive workplace culture.
"My vision is to create a place of excellence, where staff want to work and embrace caring as part of best practice," she said.
"Our team hopes to exceed patient expectations to be a beacon of quality health care within Metro South."
Emily said the Satellite Hospital was designed to make healthcare more accessible to the community and ease the pressure on nearby Emergency Departments for those people presenting with minor injuries and illnesses.
