Consumers complete 15 Steps Challenge

Three consumer partners have recently taken part in a 15 Steps Challenge at the soon to be opened, state-of-the-art Eight Mile Plains Satellite Hospital.

This challenge is a consumer-led audit approach focusing on five key themes: creating a welcoming environment, fostering a safety culture, ensuring the availability of information, promoting caring and involvement, and maintaining a well-organised and calm atmosphere.

The consumers visited each department of the facility before providing feedback on the layout and design and said they felt the facility was conducive to patient comfort and wellbeing.

Following the challenge, a comprehensive report detailing the consumer partners' feedback and recommendations was shared with key stakeholders.

Partnering with Consumers Co-ordinator Vesna Hunter said the report served as a valuable resource for continuous improvement and ensuring that the Satellite Hospital met the needs and expectations of its patients and visitors.

“The 15 Steps Challenge is just one of many initiatives that highlight Metro South’s commitment to incorporating consumer perspectives and feedback into its ongoing development and service delivery," she said.

“We look forward to inviting our consumer partners back to the facility once it is fully operational.”
