Mental Health Administration Officers Brittany and Casey handed out more than 300 care packages to their hardworking colleagues at PA Hospital, in an incredible act of kindness.

The pair felt passionate about doing something special for R U OK? Day on 12 September.

“Their job can be really hard in the wards,” said Brittany.

“Just because they’re the ones taking care of mental health patients doesn’t mean their mental health isn’t important to us.

“This is just something little that will hopefully brighten their day but also open up conversation.”

The packs were thoughtfully bundled up and hand delivered across all mental health wards at PAH.

“Inside the packs are wellbeing reminder cards, some biscuits, and teabags,” said Casey.

“I just hope it brings them a bit of joy and they know we’re all here for each other.”

Staff said they were grateful for the gifts which were a simple way to spark a conversation with someone close to them.

R U OK? empowers everyone to meaningfully connect with the people around them and have a chat with those in their world who may be struggling.

Thank you to Brittany and Casey for your initiative and compassion, and for reminding us all that a conversation can change a life.
