Georgia Brook-Lenehan, the sole Leap Year baby born at the Beaudesert Hospital.

One of Beaudesert Hospital’s most memorable little patients visited the Maternity Unit this week for a special ‘first’ birthday celebration, four years after she was born there.

Georgia Brook-Lenehan, the sole Leap Year baby born at the hospital* holds a special place in the hearts of our staff with news of her visit met with great excitement.

Midwife Kellie Clarke who helped deliver Georgia in 2020 was delighted about the reunion and had the pleasure of presenting a special birthday gift from the hospital to commemorate the milestone.

Kellie said her team loved the opportunity to reunite with the babies they helped bring into this world, and Georgia's visit was certainly no exception.

“We actually get to meet quite a lot of our babies as they grow up,” she said.

“Georgia's visit today was a wonderful reminder of the bonds we create with our patients and their families, and how every birth is a truly special moment in our hospital's history.”

Chatting about her birthday Georgia had a hard time explaining how she had a birth date that didn’t always exist on the calendar, but came close saying it was like magic.

Georgia also assured the team that she remembered Kellie as the first person she ever saw when she left her mummy’s tummy!

Thank you Georgia for bringing joy to our hospital once again and we wish you many more magical birthdays ahead.
