Dee is ready to ring in the New Year

Dee recently completed her treatment journey with Redland BreastScreen Queensland and ICON Cancer Care, ringing the bell at her final treatment.

Dee shared her experience on the care and support she received throughout her journey.

“My experience with Redland BreastScreen was absolutely amazing,” she said.

“The BreastScreen Queensland ladies initially picked up a lump, which was difficult to detect, and I’m very grateful to them for that.”

Dee said the ongoing support from Breast Care Nurse Annette Smith and the team helped her through the journey.

“The care I received from Dr Nakka and Annette has been incredible.

“Annette was always available to answer my questions, and I couldn’t fault the level of care.

“My advice to others is to have your BreastScreen and listen to the advice from the doctors and nurses.“Don’t be afraid to ask questions, no question is ever a silly one.

”Breast Care Nurse Annette Smith stressed the importance of early detection.

“A small lump was detected in Dee’s routine BreastScreen, and that early detection made all the difference,”Annette said.

“Screening saves lives, and we encourage everyone to keep up with their regular checks," she said.
