We have volunteers at the following hospitals and health centres:

What our volunteers do

Our volunteers support our visitors, patients and our staff and do things like:

  • welcoming visitors and helping them find their way around
  • spending time and helping patients who have been in hospital for a long time
  • helping patients at mealtimes
  • helping us with routine office requests.

Our volunteers also run the Koala Kiosk at Redland Hospital.

Who can apply

We welcome people of all abilities and cultural backgrounds to join our volunteer team, but you must be at least 18 years old.

You'll also need to be vaccinated against measles, mumps, rubella, whooping cough (pertussis) and chicken pox (varicella). We can reimburse you for the cost of the vaccination if you need to get one.

You'll need a valid Working with Children Blue Card if you're working in the children's areas. We can help you to get one if you need to. We'll also do a criminal history check.

How volunteering works
