The theme of the showcase is 'Embracing Culturally Sensitive, Impactful Health Research'.

As Community and Oral Health continues to grow and address the diverse healthcare needs of our communities, it is crucial to reflect on the research, innovation, and improvement methodologies that shape our evidence-based practices. A key area of focus is ensuring that these methods are not only effective but also culturally relevant and translatable to the varied communities and cultures we serve.

Researchers and clinicians alike, are called to critically assess and adapt their approaches to positively influence health outcomes across diverse cultural groups. To achieve this, it is essential to embrace culturally sensitive, and where appropriate, decolonising methods of data collection and analysis. This approach will help generate meaningful evidence that is directly relevant to the unique cultural contexts we work within.

This reflective and forward-thinking theme invites all Community and Oral Health staff to engage in a process of continuous reflection and awareness. By acknowledging our own positions and biases at every stage of the research journey, we can ensure that our work is both inclusive and impactful, leading to better health outcomes for all.

The COH Innovation Microgrant Scheme will be available in 2025 with two microgrants up to the value of $1000 available.
